YAI overview
YAI is a local workspace for ongoing work with AI. A Case brings together source materials, conversations, decisions and results. Its memory preserves the relationships needed to recover useful context when the work continues.

Three parts, one product
| Component | Responsibility |
|---|---|
| Studio | The interface for opening Cases, exploring materials and following the work. |
| YAI Core | Case state, authority, history and operational memory. |
| YVEX | Preparation, verification and execution of supported local models. |
Studio, Core and YVEX belong to the YAI distribution. Model weights are separate. Choose a prepared representation from the model catalog or follow the YVEX model lifecycle to prepare a supported model yourself.
Account and local work
The YAI account manages your commercial license and activated machines. Your Case data stays on disk. Account access does not automatically grant permission to another person's Case.
License and offline access explains trial, subscription, devices and expiry. YVEX is also available independently as a free, MIT-licensed command-line runtime.
